English

Position Description

The English Instructor is responsible for designing, planning and implementing all English classes in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India and the goal is to significantly improve English language skills of students. The ideal candidate will have experience planning and implementing English classes for students of age ranging from 10 years to 20 years and have understanding and empathy for working in underprivileged communities.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assess English language skills of participants/students and design lesson plan
  • Plan and implement all English classes/activities
  • Schedule classes and notify students of any schedule changes
  • Track attendance and report the attendance to Bapuji Committee Director
  • Record lesson plans in Bapuji Committee online storage
  • Carry out English evaluations in all classes once per session
  • Maintain clean and well-organized classroom and office space
  • Maintain strong communication with students and supervisors

Requirements

  • ESL Certified or ESL teaching experience (6 months +)
  • Experience living or working abroad, preferred
  • Commitment of 3 months minimum, 6 months preferred
  • Criminal background check

  • There is an immediate opening for this position. Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 3 months. Preference will be given to those who can commit to 6 months or longer.

Computers

Position Description

The Computer Instructor will work with Bapuji Committee Director to plan and implement youth and adult computer classes in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh and the goal is to get students interested in coding while exposing them to various learning techniques of coding.The ideal candidate for this position loves to work with curious students, passionate about coding and has knowledge of Windows, MS Office, Google Chrome, (basic knowledge of the following an asset: virtual machines, Ubuntu, 3D printing, Scratch and educational software/web platforms).

Position Responsibilities

  • Design lesson plan and teach coding on computers to students .
  • Collaborate with other Computer Instructors and attend periodic staff meetings
  • Use supplemental materials like coding apps, youtube videos etc to design interesting lessons
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and office space and computer classroom
  • Complete other tasks as agreed upon with the Bapuji Committee Director

Requirements

  • Minimum commitment of 3 months. Preference will be given to those who can commit to longer
  • Experience teaching or working with children., preferred but not required
  • Experience working in IT

Personal Enrichment

Personal enrichment is about enriching life with variety of fun and fascinating programs while learning new skills and gaining knowledge. Ideal candidate should be willing to work with students from wide age range and while helping our organization and our community continue to succeed and grow.

Personal Enrichment instructor will plan and implement personal enhancement classes in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. Goal of this class is to educate students on topics/tools that help enrich life. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working with curious students, and is passionate about life and education.

STEM Instructor

Position Description

STEM classes are about inspiring students to learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics while working on interesting projects and activities.The ideal candidate for this position loves to work with children and be science or technology enthusiast

Position Responsibilities

  • Design and implement fun and creative STEM activities and make a lesson plan with an objective to inspire students in STEM
  • Educate students in STEM topics, demonstrate activities or exhibits and engage students in activities with necessary training
  • Help maintain and care science and technology equipment
  • Attend periodic staff meetings and collaborate with other instructors to achieve session goals
  • Document lesson plans, class work/activities and assignments

Requirements

  • Minimum commitment of 3 months. Preference will be given to those who can commit longer than 3 months
  • Should be a science or technology enthusiast or professional
  • Experience living or working abroad in a rural community, preferred but not required
  • Experience teaching or working with children., preferred but not required
